There are plenty of activity opportunities both at the campsite and near Marstrand!

Excursions – Marstrand Area

  • Carlsten Fortress – Built largely by prisoners between the late 1600s and mid-1800s. The most famous prisoner was the thief Lasse-Maja.
  • Marstrand Town Hall – Bohuslän’s oldest stone building, dating back to 1644. Houses a library, exhibition spaces, and meeting rooms.
  • “Kaja” – Built in the 1790s, it was once Europe’s longest continuous quay.
  • Södra Strandverket – Constructed in the mid-1800s to protect the harbor entrance when Sweden feared being drawn into the Crimean War.
  • Marstrand Church – Dating back to the 1200s, the church features a crucifix from the 1400s.
  • Skallen Lighthouse – Located at the northwestern tip of Marstrand Island, where the Skagerrak and Kattegat seas meet.
  • Societetshuset – Marstrand’s entertainment hub, built in 1866.
  • Hiking Trail – Marstrand features a scenic hiking trail that circles the entire island. Along the path, you can see giant potholes, a sacrificial stone, and caves that were inhabited as early as the Stone Age.
